Application software is a term used for software that is designed to do a specific job.

Utility software is often a little technical, so it can be used only by those who have the right technical knowledge.

If you use your computer only for e-mail, some Internet browsing, or for typing a report, then you might not need these utilities much.

Whereas if you are an avid computer user, then by using these utilities, you can always keep your system in top shape. Apart from this, it can save both your time and space.
